湄洲林氏降世默聲中
The daughter of Lîm in Bî-chiu came to this world without a cry
有如靈通 大慈大悲如金光
With her spiritual connection with Heaven Deities and her great benevolence as golden sparkle
救苦救難 島嶼眾生保安康
She saved people from suffering, blessing all lives of the island with good health and peace
海相險惡無情洶洶
In the storm where angry billows roared
天妃挺身驅蛟龍
This Heavenly Consort stood up to the sea dragon
降伏妖精千里順風
She subdued the deities Thousand-Mile Eye and Wind-Accompanying Ear
供奉面容攏薰黑
Her statues got black due to the incense from believers
捨身為己 孝名顯赫連天
With Her sacrifice, Her filial piety became legendary
天上聖母 慈悲

萬家祈求呀保安寧
Tens of thousands of family prays for tranquility

三月二三彼一日
At Hiân-liông Port in Phô͘-chhân, Choân-chiu
踮西元九百六十年 那時咱猶未出世
That was in 960 AD. All of us were not born yet
但是從我有記憶 開始
But ever since I can remember
攏是受祢的保庇
You’ve been blessing and protecting me
你親像阮欸媽媽
You’re just like my mother
拄著困難提醒著我
Reminding me when I suffer ordeals
叫我頭要舉乎高
You told me to keep my head up
啥物款代誌攏別驚
And don’t be afraid no matter what
我一直跑 一直堅持
I keep running, persevering
一直向前行
And moving forward
我袂閣吼 袂閣驚慌
