Magnificat anima mea Dominum,

My soul revers the (greatness of the)1 Lord,

et exultavit spiritus meus in Deo salutari meo,

and my spirit rejoices in God, my savior

quia respexit humilitatem ancillae suae.

for he has gazed upon his lowly handmaid.

Ecce enim ex hoc beatam me dicent

Behold, from henceforth I shall be called blessed

omnes generationes, quia fecit mihi magna

by all generations, for He has done great things

qui potens est, et sanctum nomen eius,

He who is mighty, and holy is His name

et misericordia eius

and he has mercy on those who fear him

ad progenie in progenies timentibus eum.

Fecit potentiam in brachio suo,

He has shown great strength with his arm,

dispersit superbos mente cordis sui,

dispersed the insolent of mind and heart,
