Ἡ Παρθένος σήμερον τὸν ὑπερούσιον τίκτει

Today The Virgin brings forth The Beyond-Substance,

Καὶ ἡ γῆ τὸ σπήλαιον τῷ ἀπροσίτω προσάγει

And the earth gives a cave to The Unapproachable.

Ἄγγελοι μετὰ ποιμένων δοξολογούσι,

Angels with shepherds glorify Him,

Μάγοι δε μετὰ αστέρος οδοιπορούσιν.

As wise men follow after a star,

Δι΄ ἡμάς γὰρ ἑγεννήθη

For a young child is born for our sake,

Παιδίον νέον ὃ πρὸ αἰώνων Θεός.

He is God until eternity
