As a formation of troops, hard as iron, marched down the Imperial Guards' line of march,
the one who revered them called upon them:
Are you confident of yourselves in battle?
When the Dear General kindly asked that,
the soldiers answered we shall always triumph.
As the soldiers looked up at the Dear General who had uttered
As I look at my soldiers, I feel power well forth, they answered:
Your health, Dear General, is our victory -
your peace, Dear General, is our destiny.
This, the soldiers cordially answered.
Are even the Army Corps' guns this loud?
The soldiers powerfully vowed, letting only victory resound.
When He had said The Fatherland believes in you,
the soldiers received that glory
and answered Dear General, you are our Fatherland.
Ah... The soldiers, ah... answered:
Dear General, Dear General,
you are our Fatherland.
