Solang ein Gott im Himmel lebt

As long as there is a God in heaven

who soars above all the clouds,

Wird solche Marter währen:

Es wird sie plagen Kält und Hitz,

cold and heat will torture them,

Angst, Hunger, Schrecken, Feu'r und Blitz

fear, hunger, horror, fire, and lightning

and yet not utterly destroy them.
