لوصالِك يا رمضان

For you O Ramadan!

للتوبةِ والغفران

Yearning for repentance and forgiveness

ومُجالسةِ القران

And for the company of the Qur’an

نورٌ في الأفقِ يَلوح

A light shines from the horizon,

بابُ الجنةِ مفتوح

The gates of Paradise are open

لا يَروي عَطشَ الروح

Nothing will quench the soul’s thirst,

إلا بابُ الريان

Except the Gate Rayyan

بالطاعة نتقرب

With acts of worship we strive to draw closer,

كي يرضى عنا الرب

So that our lord might be pleased with us,

وليحيا هذا القلب

So that our heart are revived,

ويذوقَ الاطمئنان

And feel peace and tranquillity

لَيلُك ذكرٌ وقيام

Your nights are filled with remembrance and prayer

ونهارُك فيه صيام

And your days are filled with fasting,

ما أجملَها أنسام

What beautiful breezes!
